About Me
Hello there, it’s great to “meet” you.
I’m Marhielle, a Filipina living in Edmonton, Alberta. Somehow, I’ve learned to love the extreme cold (my tropical-country self is questioning me right now). And oh, ICYDK, Edmonton is utterly beautiful! Check out my gallery for random, raw phone shots I captured along the way. I’m excited to grow with this city and eventually serve the community in the most meaningful way possible.
I’m still learning my way through the vastness of Canadian culture, where kindness is woven into daily life. I’ve been preaching kindness and embodying it with my family. But at one point, my mind whispered: Are you genuine enough? Funny how the brain works… even when your heart is in the right place, doubt finds its way in.
By the way, I’ve loved writing since forever. I have my own way of doing it — not really guided by any “parameters,” just whatever thoughts show up. And whether writing loves me back isn’t something I think about. I write simply because it calls me.
In 2023, I self-published a book:
The Problem Is Not My Dark Skin: An Inspirational Journey of Self-Love.
And yet, imposter syndrome hit me right in the face. Yep, you guessed it right. I stopped marketing it. Oof.
To overshare some more LOL, I finished a 200-hour online yoga teacher training in 2021 while working in a health and wellness company, and eventually came to Alberta as a caregiver. Each chapter nudged me toward deeper growth and slow, steady healing.
And honestly? That same messy growth is why this website is so overdue. I even made another site earlier this year called Journal to Thrive, but whenever I tried to write something inspiring, I hit a wall. Today, something clicked. So yeah, here we are again. (grin)
Unraveled Lines is a space for the thoughts that run through my mind (and yes, my heart lol). My content pieces are honest, grammatically imperfect, and unfiltered. I hope you find something here that feels familiar or comforting or simply real, or even cringey. If not, that’s okay too. I’m just happy to share what moves through me.
If you ever feel called to reach out, I’d love to hear from you. You’ll find a message form below. Feel free to say hello. :-)
